1. Overview
Bartr is a peer-to-peer bulletin board where users post listings and negotiate trades directly with each other. The platform does not hold funds, intermediate payments, or act as an escrow service.
By using Bartr, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use Bartr. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this requirement.
3. Account responsibility
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials, encryption keys, and recovery key. Bartr cannot recover your private key or decrypt your messages if you lose access.
4. Bulletin-board model
Bartr is a venue for posting and discovering trade opportunities. All trades are arranged and completed directly between users. Bartr does not:
- Hold, custody, or transmit any funds or cryptocurrency
- Guarantee the completion or outcome of any trade
- Verify the identity, solvency, or trustworthiness of users
- Provide escrow, mediation, or payment processing services
5. Prohibited use
You may not use Bartr to:
- Post fraudulent, deceptive, or misleading listings
- Trade illegal goods or services under your applicable jurisdiction
- Harass, threaten, or abuse other users
- Attempt to manipulate the reputation system
- Circumvent rate limits, bans, or other platform restrictions
- Scrape, bot, or automate access beyond normal use
Violation of these rules may result in temporary or permanent suspension of your account.
6. Limitation of liability
Bartr is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any losses, damages, or disputes arising from trades between users. You trade at your own risk.
We do not guarantee uptime, data availability, or uninterrupted service.
7. Content and moderation
Users retain ownership of content they post. By posting, you grant Bartr a license to display that content on the platform. We reserve the right to remove content or accounts that violate these terms.
8. Donations
Bartr is funded by voluntary cryptocurrency donations. Donations are non-refundable and do not entitle donors to any special treatment or services.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of Bartr after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
